Anglo Eastern is the second largest ship management company in the world, with more than 450 ships under third party management in July 2015. In August 2015, it announced its merger with the Univan group, resulting in combined third party management of more than 600 ships. ==History== Peter Nash established Anglo-Eastern in 1974, initially as a chartering and ship owning organization - with Anglo-Eastern Ship Management Services being the in-house manager of the ships. The latter was the start of the present Anglo-Eastern Group. The process of an MBO (Management Buy Out) in 1998 and a subsequent merger with an established UK ship manager, Denholm Ship Management in 2001, were the key factors in establishing the present AE Group as a truly independent, global ship manager.
